Psychedelics and Transformative Justice

Expanding Consciousness for Collective Liberation

There is powerful potential in the collaboration of conscious use of psychedelics and transformative justice work. Transformative Justice (as well as other social and environmental justice movements) has spiritual roots. The incentive from which they spring is a spiritual one.

If you are inclined towards matters of collective liberation, if you engage with psychedelics, the content of your psychedelic journey will likely include insights and inspirations about decolonization, collective awakening, and freedom. It is important (especially for systemically privileged folks) to do one’s own shadow and attachment work when pursuing engagement in justice movements so our personal wounding doesn’t sabotage our efforts. Liberatory work is the most unearthing work out there, and it brings up all of our vulnerabilities… so it’s important we be strongly supported!

A Transformative Justice Community Rooted in Ceremony

I envision transformative justice community that also comes together for periodic psychedelic ceremony to enhance our capacity for interpersonal processing, visioning, and co-creating the liberatory world we know is possible. If you are:

  • An emerging leader,

  • A future elder (someone embracing life's initiations to be able to bestow the virtues of elderhood when the time comes)

  • An emissary of your culture or community

  • Or otherwise someone with a deep commitment to personal and collective liberation

...and want to be involved in this nexus of accountability, support, and co-creation, let’s talk!

How Psychedelics can aid Transformative Justice

psychedelic sound healing

Psychedelics (and ceremony in general) help us:

  • Access the spiritual origins of things

  • Experience our interconnectedness

  • Open stuck places

  • Excavate personal and ancestral wounds that may unconsciously shape how we show up in movement spaces

  • Expand our imagination to envision liberatory futures beyond oppression

  • Live guided

All of these qualities can support our ability to engage with matters of justice in an embodied, grounded, clear, and heart-centered way. They help us to be more present as we show up for more difficult conversations and action.

*It is important we do our own individual work before and as we show up to group processes such as this. If this group interests you but you do not have individual psychedelic experience, please reach out!

Preparing for Collective Healing Work

I am particularly interested in transformative justice, truth, and reconciliation between Native and non-native people. I am interested in circles on this topic to help heal what is between us, and to complement necessary action like Land Back, tribal sovereignty legislation, etc. I’m interested in how psychedelics might help non-natives in particular prepare to sit in such circles. It can be helpful to do psychedelic and transformative justice group work with one’s own demographic group before coming together in a mixed group to talk about what is between us. For now, I am very interested in working with other white folks to explore our whiteness, hold each other accountable, heal together, and decolonize our bodies, minds, and hearts. I share this vision as a bid for co-creation. If you feel called to collaborate, please let me know.

If any of the above resonates with you, please reach out! Collective Liberation requires community, allyship, mutual accountability, and peer support. We need one other!
