Who I Work With

Guiding people through spiritual emergence and liberation work

Book a Consultation
spiritual emergence insight

Are you:

  • Someone who is going through a spiritual emergence and needs help integrating?

  • A burnt-out activist who wants their passion and action for justice to come from an embodied, restorative, and spiritually-connected place?

  • A transformative justice practitioner who wants to deepen their understanding of the spiritual roots of this practice?

  • An artist who wants their work to reverberate out and have a healing impact the world?

  • A therapist or healer who wants to be a clear lens for their clients?

  • A devoted seeker who wants to look beyond their own personal enlightenment to its systemic implications?

  • Someone who walks with medicine who is stepping into a position of leadership or big impact? (This could be: a therapist, a psychedelic guide, a community leader, a movement organizer, a justice activist, a teacher, a trainer, or an influential artist)?

… If so, this work is for you!

Qualities of those
ready for this work:

  • Those whose motivation for personal and collective liberation is stronger than their desire for comfort

  • Those who are ready to take radical responsibility for themselves

  • Highly motivated people who are deeply committed to their awakening. People who invest time, space, and energy into their self-awareness outside of our work together.

  • Those eager to be challenged and introspect; folks who are receptive to feedback

  • Folks who have done a lot of personal work and who are willing to do ongoing personal work.

  • Folks willing to learn from “failures” and mistakes, and embrace every trial and tribulation as a profound learning opportunity towards wholeness.

  • Folks who are well-resourced, stable, and supported (or otherwise highly motivated to build support). This doesn’t need to be financial (although that could be part of it.) Being a healer, leader, or else someone who walks with power takes a lot of support. Other sources of support can be: community, physical health, strong self-care practices, strong will and determination, a secure place to live, etc. We all have challenges, and these are valuable teachers on the journey. But this work is not appropriate for folks who are in crisis, who are in acute addiction, who have debilitating PTSD, or who are heavily invested in dissociative behaviors and are not ready to change them.

Support for Spiritual Emergence

Spiritual emergence phoenix

Spiritual emergence is waking up to the true nature of reality. It is a little bit like being born. In the throes of it, it can feel like a crisis, with a lot of pain, disorientation, fear, and confusion. It can also feel like you are dying. And in fact, something is dying: the false self, and the matrix of colonial reality as it lives in you. Spiritual emergence can also entail ecstasy and insight.

If you are someone who was born to be an agent of collective liberation, such an awakening or rebirth is a sound calling-in to your purpose, and has big implications that must be protected, nurtured, and navigated skillfully. I help people trust, feel safe in, and find meaning in their spiritual emergence so they can turn it into liberatory action.

After one has stabilized, spiritual emergence isn’t just a personal awakening—it’s an invitation to participate in the healing of our world. The question then becomes: how to bring forth the gifts of one's personal awakening as an offering to share with the world? True spiritual emergence invites us to not just transcend colonial systems, but to transform them—from the inside out.

I Support you by:

  • Offering guidance for regulating your body and mind while in acute and recovering spiritual crisis

  • Normalization and validation of extraordinary and paranormal experiences

  • Offering paradigms based in indigenous pre-colonial societies that value spiritual emergence and provide context for your experience

  • Connecting you with peer support of others who have gone through similar experiences

  • Helping you discern between spiritual insight and distorted thinking based in trauma, psychosis, or substance use

  • Supporting your agency to explore psychiatric medication use for managing distressing symptoms if that's what you want to do. I always support your cognitive liberty and harm-reduction.

  • Helping you brainstorm how to get your practical needs met in our capitalist world that doesn't permit time off for spiritual openings

Psycho-spiritual Counseling or therapy services?

Psycho-spiritual Counseling work is for people who want to harness sincere personal and spiritual inquiry for collective liberation. You may want to pursue spiritual inquiry for your own personal healing (depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, etc.) And if so, that’s a beautiful thing! But if your aspiration is purely personal at this point and you’re not oriented around systemic impact, I recommend you check out my therapy services.
